Art Instructions
The Artistic Minds Art Studio was founded in 1995. It
serves both adults and children who are interested in
classical art. Some come to better their skills and share
their experiences, some come to begin their journey of
classical art, and some come simply to enjoy painting
and drawing. The studio will stimulate students’
interests in classical art and further their appreciation
of classical art.
Portrait Drawings & Paintings
Portraits of people, pets, horses, and houses can also
be done beautifully by professional artists in our
studio. We offer pencil/charcoal, pastel, and oil portrait
drawings and paintings. Portraits are wonderful and
unique gift ideas for special occasions. Please contact

The Artist
John Tang was born in Shanghai, China. He graduated from
Shanghai Institute of Fine Art in 1976 and then furthered his
study in Nanjing University of Fine Art in 1979. In 1986,
John was selected among the leading artists and sent to the
US as an exchange artist by the Chinese government. He
spent a few years at the State University of New York and
Canada to do art researches and oil paintings. He has
shown his art works in many exhibitions in the U.S and
around the world and received a numerous awards. Some of
his paintings belong to several permanent collections such
as State University of New York, History Museum of China,
and Shanghai Art Gallery.
John’s paintings reflect his yearning and searching for the
past. His work also shows a contrast between the life we
have now and the life in the past, a contrast that brings
back the beauty of simplicity, peace, and elegance to our
current busy and fast world.
